The difference between vomiting and regurgitation is that vomiting is a forceful ejection of the contents in stomach or intestine (caused due to several reasons) while regurgitation is an effortless ejection of ingested food from the esophagus. - Motion Sickness
This is the most likely reason for your pooch vomiting while on a move. Just like humans, it is common for dogs to get sick while travelling. - Stomach or digestive issues
Sudden vomiting in dogs and not regurgitation may be the sign of stomach issues. Try to recall any garbage exploring incidence or intake of the food that your pooch shouldn’t have had in the recent past. If yes, then your pooch may be going through gastritis. The other reasons of vomiting may be ingestion of toxins such as chocolates, hairballs, etc, gulping food too fast and exercising or running immediately after eating.
